chemical peel

Neostrata Skin Peel & Microdermabrasion – models required

A chemical skin peel is a clinical grade skin rejuvenating treatment used to target a number of skin conditions such as:

  • black head removal
  • oil congestion
  • dry, flaky skin
  • dull, dehydrated skin
  • pigmentation

Or if you just want a rejuvenating and anti-ageing effect then this will be a perfect treatment. The Neostrata skin peel works by penetrating into the epidermis reaching a deeper point than any home skincare products. This coupled with the microdermabrasion treatment unblocks pores leaving you with immediately clearer and brighter skin.

The Skin Peel Treatment

Here at Cosmetic Courses we train in the Neostrata skin peel. This is a superficial peel which is designed to give you results of some of the traditional peel systems with minimal flaking and dryness. The microdermabrasion system uses medical grade crystals in a small vacuum-like device to exfoliate deep into the skin, removing black heads and impurities. From experience we have found that having the two treatments together maximises the results compared to having either treatment seperately. As your skin will be much fresher and the top layer of dead skin cells has been removed, any skincare products used on the face post treatment will work deeper into the skin, again optimising their benefits.

Here at Cosmetic Courses we can provide treatments to suit all budgets, whether private one-to-one or as a model patient within our training environment at a discounted rate.

Frequently Asked Questions

The procedure for a skin peel and microdermabrasion usually takes around 45 minutes.
You will see the results immediately after the procedure and the time that the results last for is independent to each patient based on your individual skin care. A better skin care routine will result in longer lasting results. It is recommended that in order to maintain the results you have the procedure every couple of months.
Side effects are very rare however; there may be some redness or irritation and very rarely infection. This is however a very safe procedure and side effects are not common.
This will depend on the strength of the peel, the stronger the peel the more likely you are to experience redness; however this redness will reduce very quickly.
The chemical peels that we offer at Cosmetic Courses range from strength of 20% to strength of 70% dependent on your skin type and desired results.
Before the procedure, one of our clinical team will assess which peel you need based on the condition of your skin.
Be gentle with your skin and you must be careful when exposing your skin to the sun. Therefore you must ensure you wear sun cream at all times. You should also avoid make up for 24-48 hours after the peel.
We recommend that you do not have a chemical peel whilst pregnant or whilst breastfeeding.
Yes. Superficial chemical skin peels such as the Neostrata ones used at Cosmetic Courses are extremely safe and side effects are uncommon.
